Hi, just after i got married i read a book called "The Wealth Barber" I called the insurnce guy in my church and he gladly came over. I said i read this book and i want the good type it talks about in here. So he asked me some questions.
Are you saving any money for retirement?
Do you ever need a loan and you don't have good credit?
Would you like to have just one payment for both?
I said yes to all those questions.
Then he sold me Universal life
$50.00 a month for $50,000.00 worth of coverage.
I am a non smoker and i was 29 at the time.
I was suprised to learn that i was under insured, i bought the stuff i told him i didn't want and he lied to me.
I was educated by a friend who had joined Primerica. I bought $750,000.00 of insurance for $100.00 a month. If i die my wife can pay off our morgage $250,000.00 and she could invest the $500,000.00 left over, recieving $50,000.00 a year @10%. That would replace my income.
The "friend" from church wouldn't talk to me,wouldn't explain what he did. I read lots of books from the library that are published, not the stuff on the internet. Want to know why? Because things on the internet are open to a persons opinion and you can't be sued. A book that is published is wide open to law suites. I urge you all to test my statement. Go to a library or Chapters book store and find a book about insurance like, consumer reports, traps bated with orphins etc lots of books will tell you to stay away from Whole Life, Universal Life, Variable life insurance policy's. If you need insurance buy term and invest the difference
Thanks
Ken
