You seem like a reasonable, literate and intelligent person.
I'm not too sure about the World Division of WFG but the Financial Division has allowed me the opportunity to make a long needed career change. If you have any type of entrepreneurial drive and some level of intelligence this is a great vehicle. As a business owner you are required to mentor and motivate those you are associated with if you expect to prosper.
The initial cost for a security check and has been well worth the price of admission when I look at the financial education I've received personally. I'm not sure how the US portion of this company is set up and run but I'm familiar with the Canadian side and can't quite wrap my head around AEGON (4th largest in the world in financial/pension services) purchasing this company if there was any legitimate legal issues surrounding us. WFG Canada is regulated by two commissions (Securities & Insurance) so I find it hard to believe that we would be surviving as a pyramid scheme (illegal in Canada anyway).
I've had a tremendous opportunity handed to me - my success will be based on my ability NOT on the failure of those around me. Take a hard look at the numbers who come and go from any other large commission based company. Too many people are trained to be employees and can't survive the growing pains of building a business.
I'm not sure what the individuals posting the negatives comments were hoping to achieve or what they were promised, but I've been with WFG for about 1 1/2 years and know that I realistically need about 2 1/2 more years before I can say that I've arrived. It will not be from the sweat of my associates - it will be from the continued hard work I put into MY business. You must know that this is NOT a get rich quick scheme - maybe the others thought it was. I've been called some names before but I don't think 'zombie' applies to those of us associated to this company.
This is the first time I've visited this site - it will probably be my last - as I find the same individuals slamming the same companies (not just WFG) - with undocumented claims/biased, bitter opinions/or exaggerated facts. Kind of like the rag magazines at the check out - embelish the truth or if you know those reading it can't verify the info, heck just make it up.
My enjoyment comes from colourful conversations with family and friends as we simply test our knowledge of financial matters. As I learn I also teach - it's an ongoing process.
