That is not an unusual way to handle a claim. It helps them in not having a complaint coming back that the repair was not good enough. As far as the value of the truck they should already have a figures as to its value they are just trying to get you to give them a figure that would let them save money. Ask about them providing a free rental vehicle while they are delaying the claims process if that is included in what you are entitled to receive the money going out for rental might get them on the ball.
