I also worked for a company for 18 years. I had to go on long term disability. Unium paid me benefits for a few months and then called me one day and said "sorry,not more checks." I said my dr. has not released me to work. They replied,"too bad." They hung up the phone and refused to take any calls from me. I contacted a lawyer and so far he says nothing can be done.
