: : I am in the same boat and just started with Primerica. Basically, you DON'T have anything to lose.
: Sure you do. Because you are also a customer of your RVP, just like Amway reps are customers of the diamond reps. Your RVP will be selling you Voicetel, CallAtlanta, tickets to conventions, and other stuff. Be careful how much you invest in this, because it's easy to give into their hype about how these $500 tickets to a convention in Atlanta are going to make or break your business.
: :It's a job where you pick your hours, you pick how hard you work, and you don't need prior experience to do it.
: That's like saying you have a choice about whether or not you put gas in your car. Sure, you have a choice, but the car don't run with no gas.
: : They train you to get a license for practically nothing (and you can get it back almost immediately by making some sales.)
: ACTUALLY, they train you in sales. Studying for the exams is up to you, unless you weant to pay for classes. The cost is a little less if you pay the $199 up front, but not that much really. Considering Primerica recruits 100,000 people a year and tries to get $199 up front, without interest, which they then invest, well, you get the picture.
: : Am I skeptical about it...sure I am. But hell, what are my other options? Find me another job where there are no risks when you take it: will I like it, will I be successful, etc.
: The same risks exist in Primerica as exist anywhere else.
: : I can get a normal job and work a full 9-5 for a job that wouldn't be so easy to get out of if I don't like it.
: What are talking about? You don't like a job, you walk. What's the big deal?
: : I could try to get a job at another insurance company where I need to go back to college and take some classes.
: God forbid you actually get an education in the field in which you will be working.
: : I could try to start my own business with no backing...but what are the chances of that succeeding.
: Pretty good, if you know what you're doing.
: : I'm not looking at this as some "get rich quick" thing or even as a full-time career. But I don't see any downside towards giving it a chance.
: You will see the downside eventually :o) Trust me.
: : And if I like it and am good at it, there are some people that make a load of money.
: Yea, those are people who started 20 years ago when it was A.L. Williams, the people at the top of the pyramid. Good luck!
to the skeptics out there that have quit...what have you done with your life since...i dont see how people who quit primerica are in any position to say whether it works or not....obviously there are millionaires so it does work!....ill take "their" word for it, not the loser skeptic who has a job today and always will work for someone else !
