I have been in the business a lot longer than you have, and have sold hundreds of major med. policies that had no co-ordination of benefit clause in them. I have know policyholders who had 3 and 4 such policies. I did not sell them, but I have seen them.
Do your own research. Now that you have lost Steve to do your research, you are as lost as a goose.
:
: : A lot of individual health policies do not have any co=ordination of benefits clause.
: -------------->>>> HAVE THINGS CHANGED SINCE 1992 WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES COORDINATION OF BENEFITS BASID HEALTH POLICIES? UP UNTIL MY RETIREMENT AFTER BEING IN THE INDUSTRY FOR THIRTY-YEARS, I PERSONALLY NEVER VIEWED A BASIC HEALTH POLICY THAT DID NOT HAVE A "COORDINATION OF BENEFITS" CLAUSE IN THE CONTRACT.
: HEY JAX, WOULD YOU PROVIDE THE NAMES OF ANY CARRIERS WHO WRITE A BASIC HEALTH POLICY OR A MAJOR MED THAT DO NOT CONTAIN A "COORDINATION OF BENEFITS" CLAUSE IN THEM?
: However if you go to a HMO, you don't get a bill that can be filed with the PPO. I don't like AFLAC's system. A bunch of little benefit policies. Like I said, pick one. HMO will be cheaper, better service on the PPO.

: : : He will also want to look at the coordination of benefits clause under both policies; In addition, with PPO and HMOs, you are limited to the specific docs and facilities you can use. If they both have the same list, what is he gaining with both? if they have different lists, it still makes no sense, as the plan will only pay for its own providers (in general, excluding emergencies).
: : : Sounds as if he might be better off looking for a supplement - jax--is this the kind of coverage AFLAC is meant for?
: : : : There is no law saying that you can't have more than one policy. However, what for?? Is he trying to make a profit??? The prem. will eat him alive. Pick one, forget the other.

: : : : Hi,
: : : : : My friend, Ken, plans to buy HMO from Kaiser and PPO from another insurer.
: : : : : Will he get into trouble for that?
: : : : : Is it worth it?
: : : : : Any help will be appreciated.
