I'm going to try not to reveal any details because what I'm doing could be considered questionable, but I wanted to share with you the problems I've experienced with Oxford Health. I work in benefits adminstration and (luckily) the business my company does with Oxford is minimal. In two separate instances they refused to acknowledge our rights to make changes to the group's information. Their turnaround time is atrocious ("urgent" is 6-8 days) and we have to MAIL all changes to them (no faxing). So if we had a new member they had to wait 2 weeks for the mail and oxford to process them. When they do make a mistake (like ingnoring our mail updates because they didn't know who we were) they don't change the process to fix the people affected right away, instead you have to wait for an additional two weeks, regardless of how much time has past. I know this seems minor but in the benefits business, things sometimes must be immediate - there are emergencies that involve your health coverage. What frustrates me the most about Oxford is that they are the minority. Most of my interactions with health insurance carriers are, if not pleasant, at least _efficient_. Anyway, thanks for listening.
