I have noticed there are a few common themes about these "recruiters" aka schemers caught up in a multi-tier markiting program. when they first call you:
a) you have to twist their arm just to get the name of the company, let alone any additional info about pay or otherwise
b) they always invite you to an "open house" or "meeting" where some hotshot's gonna tell you about the company (rather than selling you over the phone)
c) they tell you that they're "always looking for bright people" or "that you sound like a smart guy"- nothing about experience or qualifications matters. they try and kiss your ass
i have gotten calls from Qixtar and Primerica, and I was naive enought to go to the qixtar meeting...It was like a cult!!!!all they did was talk about how much money you could make and how if we were employees at a company we could never ever make the real money. They even gave me some audio CDs which were pure propoganda. I just had a weird "feel" at this meeting. at the time i know nothing but something just felt strange for sure.
Bottom line is, you CAN make money doing this if you're good at it. However, in my opinion it's somewhat immoral because all you're doing is feasting on people below you. You're selling the IDEA, not the PRODUCT, and to me that is inherently shady in itself.
