Not much to tell you; Horace Mann has gone through a major restructuring of their claims departments, including the closing and consolidation of several offices. They did this on 12/20 and were supposedly reopened 12/23; whenever a company does something like this, count on weeks of delay in your claim. They probably shipped your claim to a new office where the new adjuster has several hundred files dumped on him right before the holiday and has not even looked at it.
Sorry to say, this is the trend in P&C insurance; big on the sales of the policy, but save any penny they can on claims service.
: I was rear ended the person who hit me admitts fault her insurance had me fill out claim papers they sent an adjuster out who took pictures he said my claim was in order and I would have a check in a couple of days. weeks are going by and Iam calling every day just to hear a new excuse ranging from were moving to a new office and your file is in the moving truck to your contact person is at the new office and the phones are not turned on yet. Come on this is a 1 800 # to a major company I know they have computers and cell phones. Whats the best way to get action on this claim. It has now been 7 weeks and many hours on the phone.
