My girlfriend rents a room from a co-worker who owns the house they live in. The house recently got robbed. She doesn't have any renters insurance. My girlfriends flat screen tv, sound system, dvd player, etc got stolen from the living room. It was worth about $4,500. The homeowner used the entertainment system also since it was in the living room. The homeowner doesn't want to make a claim because she say's it wasn't her items and she is scared that she might get dropped because she just got the
insurance. I basically want to know is there anything my girlfriend can do? Can the homeowner claim the stuff since she used the items more than my girlfriend did? Or is my girlfriend just screwed out of this unfortunate situation?
