While Mr. Young may be correct, I think something different happened. How much additional money did Geico take from your bank account? If the amount was relatively small, then you probably just failed to sign a form declining uninsured motorist coverage. Maybe they sent it to you and you overlooked it (or it could have been part of one of the other forms), or maybe they failed to send it to you.

While the SR-22 does cover those who have had an accident in the past, and were not insured, that isn't the main purpose of the form. It is a form issued to high risk drivers. Typically these are drivers who have lost their liscense. You would show the SR-22 to the DMV or DPS to get a liscense reissued. If you are insured with an SR-22, the insurance company is obligated to notify the DMV or DPS if you insurances lapses. Normally those issued a SR-22 are people with a DUI (Mr. Young is familiar with that), lots of tickets, etc.

If you needed an SR-22 then Geico would have known this before they even issued you insurance. Also, you would have needed the SR-22 by now. So it's not likely that this applies to you, or you would have known it.

: To Whom It May Concern,

: It is not often that I become upset enough with Geico Representative's to write a letter to the customer complaint department. However, a recent deduction on my checking account has me both angry and frustrated and more than a little disappointed.

: I have been over deducted for not completing an unmotorist document that has never been submitted to my home. I complete all forms submitted to my home on a timely manner and expect the same from your company.

: I would appreciate a credit back to my checking account as soon as possible.

: I hope that your concern about this situation will make it possible for you to resolve it without any further action on my part.
