You can read this board and find out everyone's opinion of Primerica as a professional career move. But most people on this board aren't financial professionals. There are some posters who have been with Primerica, some who have had exposure to their products, and some who are currently in the company.
If you want an opinion of a financial professional as to the effects of PFS on your resume, I recommend that you post your question to www.financial-planning.com/wwwboard5 which is the "Career Building" section of Financial Planning Interactive. There are a lot of financial professionals that post to that board.
Their opinions are probably more valid than ours here.
: I just recently ran into an old high school buddy who is working for Primerica. At the time I wasn't interested in the company, but due to being out of work and wanting to start graduate school for accounting, I figured it would give me good practice for the "real" world. I realize that even though he swears him and his wife make an extreme amount of money, which he says I could make, that this will probably never happen, but what I'm concerned about is my professional future after working with this sort of company? I am extremely interested in financial planning and accounting, but I don't want to end my career before beginning by having to put Primerica on my resume. Any thoughts or advice before I commit? Seems there are mixed reactions on the message boards about the company, so from a professional level should I or shouldn't I?
