My husband had a vehicle accident while driving a Toyota truck. He was on a mountain and met a tractor-trailer in a curve. The roads were wet and slippery. The truck driver tapped his brakes, and his empty flatbed trailer slid left of center and hit my husband. Luckily, he was not injured. Unfortunately, the truck driver and his company have refused to report the claim. The accident report states that the trucker "failed to maintain control" but no citations were given. We are at a standstill in this. The Construction Co. has AIG, Int. as their insurance company and they are denying the claim based on what the insured is saying. He even went so far as to say he was on a dirt road with no lane markings(which is completely false).
They refuse to investigate the accident. We only have liability insurance on our truck which is undriveable. If anyone has any insight on what we should do to recover our loss, please give us some advice. As for AIG, they will not return our calls. I guess it's time to get a lawyer.
