I was baited and switched by Safeco auto insurance. I recently switched my auto to Safeco after I was quoted a very low rate. I cancelled my old car insurance policy and made my first installment to Safeco. A week later I received a huge premium increase notification. Safeco says they found tickets on my driving record at the DMV, but I had already disclosed when I bought their auto insurance.

: I agree. Safeco auto insurance is a rip off. After my first 6 months my payment were raised by $20.00 each month. No accidents or tickets. Three years later i am paying $60.00 MORE a month. The EXCUSE from Safeco auto insurance is the BAD weather we have had in Portland Oregon and there were to many claims that i am being punished. Safeco auto insurance IS A BAD CO. to do business with. RUN RUN AND RUN."

: : Watch out for Safeco Insurance.
: : Trying to cancel with this company takes and act from Congress!
: : They deliberately make it hard to cancel your policy so that they can keep the rebills coming. They will not allow you to cancel with them directly only your agent. But if your agent does not call you back cause they know what you want to do you are stuck. Safeco knows this and makes it hard to cancel. Even with a written letter to them my policy was still not cancelled until my 4th phone call to a supervisor.
: : STAY AWAY FROM SAFECO!!!!!!!
: : I switched to AAA and so far I love it!
