I have been a lifelong insured with USAA because I always believed that their claims handling treated military officers and other military and former military personnel as ladies and gentlemen.In 35 years of being covered by USAA I can only remember two claims before the present one.One was treated fairly & was years ago. One fraud claim was only a few hundred dollars and they have totally ignored me and refused to communicate. In this auto claim they have refused to handle pending claims arising out of the accident and instead have treated me and my family like we are the enemy,not the insured. I would advise anyone to insure with any company other than USAA, even if the other company is more. USAA has no customer service and there is no purpose served by paying premiums when they will not only refuse to pay claims, but will also harass you hoping that you will give up. I advise you to consult with an attorney ASAP because their claims handling procedures are not only unfair, they violate the law.
