No opinion one way or the other on the ripoff, but if you have a company and somebody registers 'yourcompanysucks.com', and you sue them and win for using your company name in a URL (happens all the time, easy win for the lawyers), then you now own 'yourcompanysucks.com'. You keep it because a few bucks a year for registration is easier than letting it lapse and having to haul out the lawyers again the next time somebody does it.
