For what is worth, I found this old post while doing a search for something on Google.
In our case above, they settled out of court and we achieved the full restitution that was requested.. and then some, as they had no leg to stand on if they wanted to take this to trial.
unfortunately, it allowed the attorney to profit from this very equitably and they could have avoided this completely had they simply done the right thing to begin with. As it ends, they paid 3 times what it would have taken to take care of our losses from the onset of the accident.
