So after years of not having insurance, and having constant medical problems, my brother comes to me last week with this "Discount" card program that he uses. He told me that while the card wasn't insurance, it helped him get by with cheaper then normal medical expenses.
I thought to my self, yeah right some Medical Discount card is really going to save me money, they'll probably want an arm and a leg just to provide any kind of discount. But as I was already spending tons of money, I thought to myself "take a gamble, maybe this can help." Boy was I glad that I took the plunge.
Wearing Glasses, Chronic Ulceritis, and acute chrons disease are just some of the problems that I contend with on a normal basis (without medical insurance mind you), And after I got on the discount program I started paying significantly less for the daily and emergency medication that I was required to take to combat the illnesses (not glasses of course).
I went from paying on average of $1000/month for medications, to less then $400, it was a GIGANTIC SAVINGS! And to top that off, when I had to goto the emergency room while out of town, it helped get my medical records over to the hospital in a hurry.
I don't know if any of you without insurance have ever been in this situation, but if you have I fully reccomened getting enrolled in a discount program of some sort. I was just glad my brother found this great card for me.
