Has anyone actually received benefits??

We also have a policy that was taken out by my grandfather who passed away in 1989. We have found checks with policy numbers written to National Home Assurance Company but the envelope says Trinity Life. The numbers we have found are for Peoples Benefit Life in Cedar Rapids IA 1-800-732-7754 and Valley Forge Pa 1-610-5000 and 1800-532-7900. But, can anyone tell me if they have been able to contact them and actually receive any benfits or information on old policies like this?
