: : UHC won't pay for any real, effective treatment, but they freely pay for prescription medicines that are actually poision (Pain pills, muscle relaxers).
: : If you have an elevated clain, get ready to wait, then talk to somebody with a really nasty attitute on the phone

: Finally someone who agrees that UHC is too big for their own good. They do suck and suck and suck. Have you hear of double dipping? Every claim that goes in comes out with double deductibles when the policy clearly states that the patient is only responsible for one deductible. In addition, it takes months to resolve every single claim due to the incompetancy of their "customer service" morons.
: I have to call 3 times to resolve these "double bills" and I've figured out that the purposely do this to generate more income while blaiming on the programing department. Since UHC is my only option through my employer, I have decided to sue UHC for loss time and punitive damages. I've asked on 6 occassion this year for them to rectify this situation and they keep coming up with more excuses and blaiming other departments which I'm not able to contact. Just try to contact someone who knows what is going on in this company! I've written letters to the head customer service department and they've gone unanswered, never answered for months. It's no longer personal, this company will pay for its mistakes because as consumers we must fight the bullshit!!!

I too am having trouble with UHC. The worst medical benefits I have ever had, no exageration. I have 2 problems with them. I sought treatment from a specialist, that was approved, the specialist called UHC to verify the coverage, which they did, and after 8 visits over 3 months, I recieved in the span of 2 days letters form UHC dening the coverage because it could be considered a pre-existing condition. I am fighting it and still do not know what is going to happen. More recently, I went to a "In Network" approved doctor for a hurt back. The Dr wrote me a prescription(?) for physical therapy. I went to UHC online found an "In Netowrk" physical therapist that shared the same medical foundation affiliation as the doctor that wrote the prescription. NOw that I have gone to the physical therapist, I find out that they bill UHC using a "Place of Service" code that means "Out-patient" service and not "Office" visit, so they are not going to pay the full amount. I too am escalating this to my companys HR department but not before a "Rapid Resolution Specialist" told me that I should call every "approved" provider on their list, talk to thier billing department to verify which code they use. She would not give me to a supervisor, unless I filled out a form and waited for them to call me back within 48hrs. DOes not matter what you do UHC will find a way to screw you out of payments, and you will only find out after you have incurred the bill.
