Oh, the "rapid resolution" (ha!) specialists? She assured me that there was no one she could transfer me to...I guess perhaps she was the CEO? *g* See Money magazine's June issue. In the "Money Helps" column, there is someone who has the exact problem I'm having with UHC.
I love how there is never a supervisor. They'll call you back in 48 hours.
They paid all of our claims until a two month period in 2005. They decided the clinic we were using was out of network for that two month period. It took me ten months to get one claim paid, and I'm still waiting on the others. Same doctors before and after those two months are fine. Oh, wait, they just said that they made a mistake...the October claims should be readjusted to out of network.
Contact your company's benefits coordinator. I was trying to handle this myself like a sane, rational person previously. This does NOT work with UHC. I'm already getting responses from them.
Also, do talk to someone at your state's insurance commission. Complaints need to be filed.
Last November, we fired UHC as our insurance provider during open enrollment. Still doesn't pay the bills that they haven't paid.
I'm a nurse. I make sure that every physician I work with in the hospital knows that United Health Care does not reimburse their physicians properly.
I really hope that the negative press from the coverage in Money helps. I really hope that they start doing their jobs.
