That fine print can come back to whom them if an "ordinary" or reasonable man would not understand the language.

The problem is, The insurance lobby has bought and paid for every lawmaker out there from both parties.

Talk to a consumer rights attorney, one who specializes in insurance litigation. There's an endless supply of lawyers working for the carriers and a finite # working for the consumer.

: Has anyone else run into a problem with State Farm not paying out because of policy changes that were so hidden in the fine print no one would ever know they're there. In Georgia, up until this year you had 30 days to put a newly purchased car on your insurance. In 2005 we did exactly that and everything was fine.

: About 2 months ago, my 20 year old daughter finally saved up enough money to buy herself a nice car and because the rule was 30 days before, she assumed she had 30 days to list this car with State Farm. She had called the agents office after hours on the 12th day and because no one was there, she intended to call the next day but forgot. On the 22nd day, she had an accident and State Farm will not cover it even though a payment had been made for that month on her car (the previous one which had been sold), because they said they changed the time frame to 14 days as of 2006.

: I went back to our State Farm receipts and there was no notification in the renewal and we kept everything, even the newsletter that was enclosed, but no policy change. They have told me that it was in there and so I must be lying! Great customer service from an obvioulsy shoddy company who believes bottom lines are more important than doing the right thing!

: Anyone else have similar problems...particularly in Georgia.
