Thanks for the post. I was contacted today and will now cancel my appointment. Thanks Allona: I am absolutely brand new to this forum. After I found it, I literally read everything in here I could find about Primerica, and it seems people are split on the company. From what I have read here, I'd just like to say that both sides appear to have valid arguments.

: I do have a question, though, and some comments. First, do recruiters contact anyone and everyone? I ask because in no way, shape, or form did I turn in a resume, application, letter, or anything else to them. Before today, I had never even HEARD of them. I am not in that industry, have never sold products of any type. I got a call today, Saturday, and the gentleman went into the normal dialogue one would expect. I did ask how he even got my information (name, phone number), and he said one of his associates forwarded him my resume. When I thought about it, I suppose someone may have pulled it up on Monster.com or another site.

: As he went on and then concluded with asking if I would be interested in an interview (which he claims is a two-step process), I was honest and told him that no, I would not. Now, I have said "no" to people before, and usually they are very polite and we go our seperate ways. He actually claimed that it was "really funny" that I had my resume out there if I wasn't looking for a job. Again, in no way was I upset, it takes a lot to get me upset, but I found it strange. I informed him that I was happy where I was, but that I had, in fact, applied at a few places, and if a position was offered that was vastly superior to what I was doing now, I would take it. I then, again, told him that I have not applied at Primerica (which he only called PFS, never once did he say Primerica). He then said their parent company is Citigroup and most people know of that. I, of course, know them, and I said as much.

: Again, neither of us was rude in the least, I'll give him that. The funny thing is, he may have "won" in that I did become interested. It's funny, I have zero desire for a job like this, but he scheduled a time to meet with me next week, Thursday, and I just want to go to see what it's all about. I already know now 100% that I will not work for the company, but it's one of those things you almost have to experience just to see if what people here have said is true.

: Now, I do not know much about how this part of the working world works, but I found it strange that my caller ID said the number was a different company, and when I pulled up the telephone number on whitepages.com, it said the number for the caller ID but nothing about Primerica, PFS, Citigroup, or anything else.

: I know people here either really hate them or really love them, but, again, I am right smack dab in the middle. I do not feel anything towards them either way. The website issue was odd, www.primerica.com takes you to ww4.primerica.com. That could be nothing, but I had NEVER seen that before. Out of everything, that is what stood out as odd.

: I just wanted to post this to tell about my one and only "experience" with them. Everyone else does, so why not me? =)

: By the way, this forum is great for information, not just about PFS but about a ton of other stuff. There seem to be many knowledgable people on all sides of the issues.

: After typing all of that, I don't think I am going to go out there on Thursday. I changed my own mind. Time to call him back (I'm not one to just not show up).

: I know, pointless post but there it is.

: Dan
