: I've been 'accepted' into the exciting world of PFS. They've given me all kinds of forms to fill out and turn back in, as well as my FNA. I've done it all. They've asked for my $199 check, but that's where I stopped the process.

: The RVP who is over the office that is recruiting me had me read the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", which completely changed the way I look at finances, investing, and business. I'm now very interested in investing and my future. Primerica talks like they're the perfect fit for me.

: My problems:

: 1. Primerica has already had me compile a list of everyone I know, and has scheduled a time for me to go talk to people. I have been to one class. I know nothing about investing, insurance, or financial planning. I'm supposed to talk to people about -very- serious issues like retirement planning and the way they spend their money. That bothers me. I want to do more than just sell a product.

: 2. I have read many people's opinion of Primerica's services, including their term insurance. I haven't seen -any- information about the price of Primerica's insurance or other services compared to the average. I don't want to tell people they're getting a good deal when I'm screwing them without even knowing it.

: 3. MLM

: 4. While I recognize the flawed education system, it's still a valuable resource. I asked my RVP about taking a macroeconomics class in college, and he told me not to. He informed me that education is flawed and won't teach me what Primerica can. Basically, they want to send a young, barely licensed, uneducated guy out into the field to offer financial advice. Scary stuff. On top of not recommending further financial education, the office I spoke to is discouraging a -college- education.

: With these problems, I can't join Primerica. That's dissapointing to me, as I thought I had found an opportunity and something really exciting. I'm excited about helping people and learning about investing.

: Starting my own insurance business, or joining one, doesn't sound like fun. My wife worked for State Farm agents for some time, and it was not a job I would want. Primerica made it simple. Talk to people, help them out of debt, and prepare them for retirement.

: I've been fighting myself for the past two weeks about this. I go talk to the guys at Primerica, and they've got an answer for everything. Then I leave thinking everything is okay with them. The next day, I continue to do more research, and I'm back to where I started. Doubting my 'opportunity'.

: I don't want any replies from fanatic PFA agents or die-hard anti-PFA freaks. I just want information. If anyone would be willing to talk to me on this board or through an email exchange, I would love to discuss this.

: Thanks in advance.

DEAR SKEPTICAL PFS RECRUIT:

I DO UNDERSTAND YOUR VIEWPOINTS IN REFERENCE TO PRIMERICA AND THE MARKETING METHODS THEY UTILIZE TO PRODUCE FOR YOUR INITIAL PERIOD.
I READ IN YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT YOU GOING TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OFFERING YOURSELF AS FINANCIAL ADVISOR, A WORD APARTED FROM THE TRUE FINANCIAL ANALYST THAT YOU COULD BE WITH PFS. HOWEVER, IT IS VERY UNDERSTANDABLE THAT YOU HAVE MANY CONCERNS, MORE IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WORLD OF FINANCES. BUT ALL THAT IS PART OF YOUR TRAINING. REMEMBER THAT AS A FINANCIAL ANALYST YOU ONLY GIVE A TRUE FINANCIAL ANALYSIS OF THOSE PEOPLE YOU WOULD LOVE TO HEAR OF PFS CONCEPTS. AFTER THAT, IS UP TO THOSE PEOPLE TO MAKE UP THEIR MINDS AND GO FORWARD IMPLEMENTING OT NOT THEIR FINANCES.
I WOULD PERSONALLY RECOMMEND TO YOU TO GET MORE INFORMATION FROM PFS SYSTEMS, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A BROAD VIEW OF WHAT THE COMPANY IS ALL ABOUT.
RESPECTFULLY,
RAFAEL
