: : You haven't even provided HALF the information a good advisor would need to make the right comparison for you.
: I wanted insurance protection for myself to protect my wife and infant in the case of my early death. I told you how old I was, how much coverage I got,and what my health class was. Given that information, please provide me with a quote for a vul. Read my response to jax for more details of the policy I chose.
Sorry charlie, you just don't get it. what you provided doesn't help. Its clear you are just "playing a game". Provide all the facts or play elsewhere!
: : I am sure a pfser would have enough to give his or her opinion, but thats what makes them a pfser...and unqualified for giving any advice in the first place.
: I don't work for pfs or any other insurance company. I didn't mention pfs. I didn't buy my policy from pfs. What does pfs have to do with this. Seriously, why don't you provide your info. without entirely changing the subject.
I didn't state you worked for primerica! Why don't you provide ALL the info needed pal?
: : Anyways, I posted the initial request for jaxx (or anyone )to provide an example of why BTITD is better than CV LI. Jaxx is more than welcome to use your initial scenario to start and address my request. I will then appropriately follow up.
: I posted my numbers to jax and the reasons I chose what I chose. Why don't you give me a quote for a CV LI for my specs and then we can compare. This way, you can show me whether you think a CV LI would be better, worse,or the same for someone in my situation. This is the point of this thread.
Thats not how it works nor is it how one properly compares the two. I require items such as total insurance inforce, time needed, cash flow for savings and investing, income, net worth, etc. Without this I don't give advice! Play your games somewhere else.
: : By the way, it will be very interesting to see the reasons why you chose the type of insurance you did.
: See my response to jax.
What repsonse?
: Are you two guys running for president?
YES!
: : : Mike & Jax,
: : : okay, you two guys have been kibitzing for long enough. I think this would be a valuable and intersteng discussion if only the discussion would start to go somewhere. So, why don't we look at an example--mine.
: : : I am a 31 year old male, non-smoker, best of health, etc..ie. very best rates. I recently bought an insurance policy with a death benefit of $350,000. The agent showed me both term and
cash value options. I won't say which one I chose.
: : : Now, both Mike and Jax, please discuss, using real numbers, the pros and cons of either cash value or BTID. Use whatever companies you write for to give your examples. I think the readers on this board will greatly appreciate both of your responses.
: : : Let the games begin.
