[100 Insurers Message Board] [FAQ]

Last week at 4am in the morning I awoke to the sound of my fire alarm, only to see that my laundry room was on fire...I'm a renter. The fire destroyed my washer and dryer and some of my childrens clothing..My landlord told me under California's Law that they are not responsible for any of my personal property...The cause of the fire was due to electrical wiring that went bad..Im not trying to sue my landlord I just want them to replace my washer and dryer...Are they responsible and where under California's Law would I find that they are or not responsible?
