I sent their check back and went through my
own insurance company. Of course I had to put
$500 down for my deductible. Through subrogation,
my insurance company won 100% of the cost of damages and my $500 was reimbursed. I hope yours
turns out well too.
: You're lucky you got that far with Chubb!! A guy ran a red light, made an illegal right turn and hit my son, was ticketed by police--also a no brainer. The Chubb agent said they don't care what the police report said; police weren't there when the accident happened. It's been over 2 weeks and they haven't established liability; they don't know if they are going to pay for the damage to my son's car done by their at-fault insured. The adjustor doesn't return calls, and the backup adjustor is rude. Apparently, they are launching a 30-day investigation to determine who they think was at fault. What a horrid experience and a rotten company! They drag it out on purpose and try to wear you down so you'll go through your own insurance. They told me if we didn't want to wait 30 days for them to investigate, we could go through our company.
