[100 Insurers Message Board] [FAQ]

Posted by t doolen on March 17, 2004 at 19:39:06:

I recently recieved a ticket due to "driving while license suspended". They say that I had not met the sr22 for one year terms. In the state of Illinois, this was a requirment for one year or more for me. My insurance agent started my policy with you and this form was to be sent directly to the State. At the time of my traffic stop I had no idea that this had not been completed, and I am now unable to drive until this matter is straightened out. I had a qualifying policy from july 3, 2002 thru august 11, 2003. Somehow all of the information did not reach the State. I did not have any hand in this as it is to be sent directly from the carrier to the state...basically I thought that it had. I started with my local insurance carrier, then contacted Unitrin. I worked with Michelle, who was very helpful and faxed copies to me. My concern is that the State requires the hard copy, and will only accept it from Unitrin, not a fax... and not from me. I have no way of knowing for sure that this has been sent, and I wait each day to see if I can drive again. Please respond to verify this. Thanks.
