I've had it with Horace Mann. One of their clients rear-ended me at a red light. It's been three weeks. Took two weeks of my calls (agent says he doesn't file claims, only sells) to get a claim number assigned. They still can't "verify coverage" and are putting the pressure on to alternately take a personal check from the insured or file the claim with my insurance company. I've been lied to by everyone except the person they insure. Horace Mann gave out their client's personal information without hesitation: her address, phone number, list of OTHer late model cars they will admit to insuring, and a couple of mentions of the large money fund she has with them. True!
I am insured with American Family and I couldn't be happier. I feel so bad for the Horace Mann client. Once this is over, I'm going to tell her the outrageous lies they told me and how they bithely gave out personal information. My excellent AmFam agent has contacted them to help me resolve this and can't believe how badly Horace Mann company treats their cliets.
In my opinion, Horace Mann needs to re-examine their company ethics.
Still waiting....RED
