: MY MOTHER & FARTHER RECENTLY PASSED AND I'M SURE THEY HAD INSURANCE POLICIES BUT I DON'T KNOW WITH WHAT COMPANY. IS THERE A WAY TO FIND OUT BY THEIR SS#? I AM THE EXECUTOR AND ONLY BENEFICIARY BUT NEED HELP IN FINDING OUT ABOUT THEIR INSURANCE.

If there is nothing in their files or papers, no will mentioning the life insurance policies, how about their canceled checks? You may find among their cancelled checks a check made payable to an insurance company.
Another avenue to search could be any mortgage loan, regular loan, credit card application and so forth to see if they may have listed any cash value life insurance they had which is an asset to them in a financial statement.
If none of them work for you then keep an eye on their mail for the next year to see if they receive a statement from an insurance company.
