: : : : : : : A friend of mine has joined Primerica and is really trying to push their term life policy on me. In trying to sell this policy he keeps asking me for a copy of my current policy with State Farm. Obviously I'm not going to let him have a copy but I am curious to know why they want a copy of my currently policy? Why can't they just give me a quote?

: : : : : :
: : : : : : Tad,

: : : : : : Depending on the state you live in he might have to do a comparison, by law. He should look at your old policy to make sure you know what you own.

: : : : : PFS term is WAY OVERPRICED!!!!

: : : :
: : : : Overpriced? Please pull out a phonebook..........go to the yellow pages and start calling insurnce agents and get some quotes. Been there.done that and PFS beat 9 out of 10 that I called.I don't ever recall them saying they were the cheapest.........but then again they aren't close to being the most expensive either.

: : : Primamerica (The Old A.L. Williams) is all about "term, term, term" insurance. If you already have life insurance in place, 9 times out of 10, you don't want to replace it becuase the new policy is based upon current age (so it cost more) and current health (could cost you even more). Look to see if supplementing your current insurance is the right thing to do for you, not your friend.

: : ::Primerica (formerly A.L. Williams Corp.) is all about "term, term, term" insurance, as are all unbiased consumerists (Suzy Orman, for just one example). If you already have life insurance in place, 10 times out of 10, you DO want to replace it IF your old policy is based upon what is now commonly accepted as the flawed concept of bundling your protection dollars with your savings dollars (so it cost 2 to 10 times more than it could have and should have) and is based on outdated mortality tables (so it costs you even more). Look to see if dropping your current insurance is the right thing to do for you, not the above two fellows that made all-too-obvious attempts to scare you out of doing something positive for you and your family.
: : IMPORTANT: Do not drop your expensive, inferior coverage until your new policy is in force. If you do, and then something weird happens, like your blood work revealing that you have cancer or something else that leaves you uninsurable, then you are left with NO coverage.
: : Just so you know, I was paying $1423 a year for coverage I later found out I could've had for about $150. Luckily for me and my family, the brother of a good friend asked if he could come over and show me something. He was with the A.L. Williams Corp. (now Primerica) and gave me the opportunity to have four times the coverage (the amount I needed, instead of a lesser amount that was all I could afford) for $600, less than half the price of what I had formerly been duped into paying (even though I was now ten years older). I believe that cash value life insurance, with its bundled concept, was very poisonous to my family's financial plans. Thank God my friend's brother came and talked to me. You should be thanking the friend that talked to you, who, BTW, wants to see your policy so he can prove to you in black and white in your own policy that the things he said are true. You don't have to let him HAVE a copy, but you should let him look at your policy long enough to gather all the pertinent information he needs in order to be able to show you all the features you were sold that MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE in regard to your family's financial game plan. Good luck to you.

: ^^^This clown works for Primerica! There term insurance is way overpriced. They don't even offer a permanent product, which may be the best option for some consumers. If you really want term insurance, look at Banner Life, First Colony, West Coast Life. They will beat Primerica 10 times out of 10. All you Primerica agents should stop sliming your friends to sell overpriced insurance!
