USAA (Fair & Balanced)
- BAD
I had a single claim on renters insurance (an accidental gunshot injury that met the limit of my policy) and was immediately given notice of non-renewal on my renters insurance policy.
During the recovery period, USAA refused to provide legal counsel to avoid a lawsuit - and it was clear that a settlement of the claim was going to be accepted. I was left to fight off lawyers without USAA support, until the point that an actual suit was filed (one of those MY Neck, my back.....Oh, my NECK AND MY BACK frivilious suits).
I never had a single prior claim in 9 years of being insured with them, and was shocked to learn that USAA has "blackballed" me from virtually very insurance company via some underwriters database.
They have stated that I can "attempt" to renew the policy following a mimimum of 3 years from the date of the claim. No guarantee - except my lawsuit against them.
-Good
Always responsive on the Auto and Banking side. Loads of advantages to banking and checking accounts. My investments are STRONG, and I can't complain outside of the insurance.
