If the company really was non-renewing for that cause, they would be required to tell you.

Note that if the agent is "no longer doing business" with that company, it may be for a variety of reasons. Agents may cancel their own appointments because of bad relationships, excessive policyholder complaints, commissions, etc.

The fact the same agent has not found coverage for you is somewhat suspicious, in that had they left your present insurer because they have a better company appointed, I would think they would have found coverage for you there. Because they did not, it is possible your insurance company terminated the agency appointment.

Call the company you have now if you are pleased with their claim service. Ask for another agent in your area.

The last possibility is that your present insurance company has ceased doing business in your state. If that were the case, a good agent would have tried to find coverage for you long in advance of a cancellation notice.

Either way, you may be better off finding an agent who will serve you better.

: I HAD WATER DAMAGE IN MY HOME DUE TO A BURST PIPE IN THE WALL. IT IS UNDER REPAIR NOW, AND IT LOOKS LIKE EVERYTHING WILL BE COVERED UNDER MY POLICY. HOWEVER, THE LOCAL AGENCY SENT ME A LETTER SAYING I AM NOT BEING RENEWED BECAUSE THEY ARE NO LONGER DOING BUSINESS WITH THAT COMPANY. I PERSONALLY FEEL IT IS BECAUSE I HAD A LARGE CLAIM (BUT THE ONLY CLAIM ON THE HOUSE EVER). I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T FIND ANY COMPANY TO INSURE ME, AND MY POLICY IS ONLY IN EFFECT FOR 2 MORE WEEKS.
