: I have been with AFLAC in Minnesota for 4 1/2 years both as an associate and now as a District Manager. I had the opportunity to see AFLAC in place for 8 years at my past job. I have been a policyholder for 12 1/2 years. AFLAC truly pays what they say they will pay and most claim check are received within 7 to 10 days. When I came aboard, I had no sales or insurance experience. I have never been happier in my career decision. I work hard for myself and reap the benefits of a great commission structure, renewals & Stock bonus program. The market isn't by any means saturated. Statewide the penetration rate is about 6 % (and metro area only 2.9%. Is there room for growth? YES. In Minnesota there are over 97,000 companies with 3 or more employees and only 6100 groups have been set up so far. To be successfull with AFLAC you only need to set up about 2 to 3 (24 person) groups per month. By doing just that you will make well over $40,000 your first year. For marketing I use alot of referral sources that I have established throughout the years. So the majority of the groups that I set up are through referrals. You can employ whatever marketing strategy fits for you. The key is to compile whats is referred to as a "Hot Leads List" for yourself. If you would like more information on this oppotunity please let me know.
: : Have you had any luck finding answers to your questions because I too and considering AFLAC as an employer. I do not have sales experience but would be coming from the education field as a teacher. Just wondering if you had any good advice....

: : : I'm considering taking a job selling insurance for AFLAC and I need some questions answered from someone who has worked there as a sales person.

: : : How do you go about prospecting? Do you buy a call list and do telemarketing for appointments? Do you just drive down the street and randomly call on businesses that look prosperous? What's the best way to select accounts to call on?

: : : What other insurance companies are good to work for that offer business-to-business products in Minnesota?

: : : What other insurance products might be a good compliment to the AFLAC line?

: : : What is the percentage of people still selling AFLAC after trying it for a year?

: : : AFLAC's growth has slowed in the last year according to one of my sources. Is there still earnings potential for someone just getting into the business or is the market getting saturated? If it is saturated what other insurance products/companies might you suggest as an alternate?

: : : I'm not new to sales but I'm new to the insurance business. What advice would you have for me? I'm confident in my ability to sell but I know nothing about insurance.

>> Who makes the call on who is "promoted" to District Sales Coor. How are leads given, when
several agents work through a single Regional Director?

How well did the DSC and Reg. Sales Coord. support
you and get you going ?

Were the first few weeks pretty dry or is there
some way to make a little bit off the bat??

THANKS
