You didn't read too many of the posts, did you?

Primerica is well known for the deceptive & misleading sales, marketing & recruiting practices. In typical MLM style, they over exaggerate everything, especially incomes. They have the highest turnover rate in the industry. Their products are among the highest priced in the industry and the mortgage companies they refer their clients to are under investigation by the FTC for predatory lending practices.

See http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2001/03/associates.htm

They give their reps the meaningless title of Personal Financial Analyst (PFA) which is designed to designed to dupe the public into thinking the rep is something more than a salesperson, ie: a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner, or some other real professional designation that indicates an advanced education in financial matters. However, by visiting the Important Disclosure section of the Primerica website at http://www.pfsnet.com/disclosures_frameset.html, you will find the following:

“…The Financial Needs Analysis is not a financial plan.” “…Primerica representatives are referred to as Personal Financial Analysts (PFAs). PFAs are compensated through commissions on the sale of financial products offered by the financial product companies they represent. PFAs are not financial planners, investment advisors, financial consultants or other specialists who provide financial advice and whose compensation may be unrelated to sales.”

The page is set up so as to hide the disclosures. You will have to scroll down through the section even though it appears that you have reached the end. The fact that they've tried to hide it says everything.

In addition, titles like “Division Leader”, “Regional Leader” etc, are handed out to PFAs for recruiting a certain number of people, and generating enough sales through their downlines. RVPs can arbitrarily award these titles for any reason, so they don't mean anything. Ask a “District Leader” how they got their promotion - they will tell you that they recruited x amount of people and had enough premium sold that month to qualify. Wow...what a promotion.

I could go on and on as there is plenty of documented sources to verify the claims that are posted, but you should investigate for yourself. To make it a little easier for you, visit the following links:

: : Methinks you had a little too much to smoke (or drink) last night!

: : I'll start with your statement about "plain term". You see, that's just it, I had "plain term" with PFS and now I have "plain term" at half the price! Still with an A+ rated company, still with the TIB rider, still with the EXACT "benefits" of your beloved Term 2000 plus I now have a 30 year plan & I DOUBLED my face amount and cut the premium IN HALF! How's that for going and getting "plain term"?

: : Next as to your lawsuit crap! I can find just as many lawsuits against PFS as any other company! Who cares? Every company has a lawsuit now & then.

: : I know your parent company is Citigroup, but Primerica AIN'T citigroup, so stop spewing that you are with the #1..., the largest in the world, etc. because you are not! PFS is an insignificant piece of the Citigroup pie. That's all, nothing more!

: : As for your "every company is an MLM" spew, typical PFS rhetoric! You see the difference is that not every company promises that their hires that they WILL make $100k/year in their business, but fail to mention that less than 3% of the people there now make more than that. Not every company trashes a product (ie, cash value) but fails to inform the client/hire that they OWN a company that sells that product (NBL). Not every company hires every unqualified, untrained person that walks through the front door and tells them that everyone does well in the business when they know full well that 97%+ will quit in the first year! Not every company spews that they do what's right for the client/hire 100% of the time when they know that they don't have the product line to even come close. Not every company .... nevermind, this list is getting too long!

: : The title of PFA is misleading at BEST! When I go to see an analyst of whatever type, be it a stock analyst, a systems analyst, or a financial analyst, I would expect that the person representing him/herself as such would have the education, training & credentials to back that up. I wouldn't go to a doctor for surgery if I knew someone just gave him/her the title of MD without going to school or through residency. I don't think you would either. As well with my, or any other persons finances!! Bottom line is that you are not anything but sales people! Don't believe it? Check out the PFS website disclosure section and see what it says. It also states the the FNA is NOT a financial planning tool. So why waste a client's time with it?

: : I don't know what you mean by "regular insurance agent". That is what you are and I am. I can do mortgages for approximately 150 different mortgage companies with bi-weekly payments, reasonable rates, no front loads & no prepayment penalties. I can offer term insurance (both individual & group) at up to 50% less with the SAME features. I can offer auto/home/boat/RV insurance, health insurance (both individual & group), disability insurance, workers compensation insurance, commercial lines insurance, investments, bonds and once I get a client fully protected and show them how to build their estate, I can show them how to transfer that estate to their heirs in the best possible way through proper estate planning! So tell me again, where is the benefit with you and PFS?

: : So, until you can post something other than PFS spew & rhetoric, YOU go and find out about CV! OUTSIDE of PFS (which you haven't done yet), then come back & maybe we can have a meaningful, intelligent conversation.

: : : you didn't do enough research. go look up the truth about universal, variable and whole life. find out how they really work. and don't go to state farm or your local primerica office, go and get books from the industry. get a book by someone who has nothing to lose or gain by sharing that information. go look up the government investigation about insurance in the late 70's. you can't screw someone over with term insurance. and if it's too expensive for you, and you don't want all of our benefits, then go get plain term. but you'll find out that all other cash value policies are worthless. oh yah, and since we do pay claims that says a lot more than any other company. go check out how many law suits have been filed to major insurance companies for not paying claims and for lying to the public. then check out and see how many complaints have been filed vs primerica and any other insurance company and compare the two.

: : : another reason i know you didn't do enough research is because our parent company Citigroup is the #1 country in the world with 917 billion in assets.

: : : MLM? hmmm... not bad. but you're telling me that in typical corporate america that there is a CEO. and that CEO has a president and vice president. and they make that CEO rich. and the presidents have people under them that make the presidents money. those people are managers. those managers get bonused off of how well their employees do. sounds like a pyramid to me. i think we should shut down the common work force of america because everyone in the country works for an elaborate MLM system. hurry everyone go quit your jobs and tell all your managers you will not be taken advantage of and you will not work for any pyramid system ever!! then go flip burgers at McDonald's and make Ray Croc's family more money. LOL

: : : you did get me on the federal government thing though. point to you. :)

: : :
: : : but i've noticed that it does say the PFA's aren't any of those things. we never claimed to be. by our very name we are Personal Financial ANALYSTS! not planners. we take information and analyze it. DUH. we're not planners or financial consultants or specialists who provide financial advice. if we were we be called P.F.P.I.A.W.O.F.A. (personal financial planners investment advisors who offer financial advice) point for me. couple o' points for me.

: : : and we do have insurance licenses and we can do life insurance sales so i guess i misquoted myself. but a regular insurance agent can't do investments and he can't do jack about paying off your home. so i guess you could call us insurance agents with benefits. life insurance isn't bad, cash value policies are. so don't sell them and you're a great insurance agent. so go find out what's so bad about cash value policies like i asked and then see what you think about term. go get those books and read the chapters on cash value policies. i could give a crap if you like primerica or not, but i hope one day you would never buy a Cash value policy because they are a waste of money. i hope you don't stay in debt and i hope you take the time to invest your money. primerica or not... everyone needs to know how to do that.

: ALL THIS TRASH TALK OF PRIMERICA AND I HAVE -YET- TO SEE AN ACTUAL REASON STATED WHY THESE FOLKS HATE PRIMERICA SO MUCH. DON'T BORE ME WITH THE GARBAGE ABOUT "CARING" FOR THE CONSUMER. I REALIZE THAT IT'S COMMON PLACE FOR PEOPLE IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY TO ATTACK OTHER PRODUCTS, BUT I KEEP READING ABOUT PRIMERICA "SCREWING" PEOPLE AND SEE NO ACTUAL INSTANCES WRITTEN HERE. AT LEAST SHOW SOME CREDIBILITY! I HAD NEVER HEARD OF PRIMERICA 'TIL NOW, IT SEEMS THEY ARE DISLIKED ONLY BY OTHER FINANCIAL SHMOES BECAUSE I HAVE YET TO READ ANYTHING NEGATIVE FROM SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE POLYESTER SUITED COLD CALLERS. SOMEONE LEND SOME CREDIBILITY TO THESE CLAIMS. PLEASE!!
