Founded in 1937, Blue Cross of California (BCC) is a
subsidiary of WellPoint Health (along with Unicare) a publicly traded company (Symbol WLP). They serving almost 5 million
members, spread out amoung individual, group, medicare supplement, and Medi-Cal markets.
Their health plans come in three varieties,
preferred provider (PPO), health maintenance
(HMO), or point-of-service (POS) plans.
